Throughout the 2009 season Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen has consistantly been putting up big numbers game by game. Coming into the 2009 college football season, Clausen was not even on many people’s radars as far as being a Heisman quarterback. The three main QB candidates were 2008 winner Sam Bradford, 2007 winner Tim Tebow, and Texas QB Colt McCoy. But with a season ending injury to Bradford, and quality play from Clausen this season and in last year’s Hawaii Bowl the door was open for Clausen to get his name in the 2009 Heisman trophy race.
